Hello friends. I hope you’ve been doing well. Today my friends and I will be sharing various budget friendly fall decor ideas which I hope you will love and find useful. Please make sure you visit my friends listed at the bottom of the post.
You might have seen an influx of more raw and organic pottery spring up in decor. Pottery Barn has a beautiful selection, however, shipping to canada can get costly so I decided to DIY my own terracotta pot.
You will need some white paint, brown paint, baking soda and old brush and flour.
Start by mixing the paints and the baking soda together. The more baking soda you use, the more texture.
I allowed my paint to dry but in hindsight, I would have applied the flour while the paint was a little tacky so it would stick without using an adhesive.
I used some of this varnish I had but you can use spray adhesive or modpodge. Anything that will make the vessel a little tacky.
I applied the varnish and covered it with flour. You can use as much or as little as you wish.
This is how it looked at the end. I think I’m going to add a little more flour to tone down the orange a little more.
But I think that it definitely looks like terracotta. Don’t you?
