Hello Friends. I hope you’ve keeping well. How is your new year so far? It’s been gloomy and cold here which is making it hard to be motivated.
But I’ve managed to make a couple of little projects including this DIY Gold Rimmed Ruffled Bowl. It looks great on our coffee table.
A big thank you to my friends Janine, Ashley and Leslie for putting this hop together.
Such an easy little DIY that is great not only for the winter but also year round.
I displayed it with wooden beads but it would also look great with some moss or orbs etc.
I used my phone to document the process but forgot to take photos for the blog. So please GO HERE to see the video.
But basically you are going to need
1.Lay the clay down on a flat surface and roll out
2. Place a piece of plastic wrap over bowl
3. Place clay into bowl and shape into place. Cut excess clay as desired.
4. Allow to dry for 24-48 hrs
5. Remove from bowl and sand any irregularities on the rim of the clay.
6. Paint with white acrylic paint. Allow to dry
7. Paint rim with gold leaf.
This kind of irregular pottery is trending right now and I know I will get a lot of use out of this little bow.
