You Will Need:
- Brown kraft paper
- Gold leaf
- PVA Glue or spray adhesive
- White, gold and black markers
How To Make Gratitude Leaves for Thanksgiving:
Begin by cutting a maple leaf shape out of brown paper. You’ll want one for each person sat at the table, or more if you plan to scatter them.
Once your leaves have been cut out, apply a light coat of PVA glue to the paper. Leave this for a few minutes until it goes tacky. Next, take a sheet of gold leaf, and lay it down on top of the paper. Use a soft cloth or your finger to gently tap down the leaf, so it adheres to the glue.
Top Tip: You can also use spray adhesive instead of PVA for this step; whatever you have to hand will work just fine!
Now take a stiff paintbrush, and use it to tease away the edges of the gold leaf, to create a rough and rustic effect.
Use your markers to write what you are grateful for on top of each leaf, and scatter them across your table, or frame and give as a gift.
These beautiful leaves make fantastic table decorations, but look equally as beautiful when framed and mounted on the wall.
What will you do with yours?
