Creating a unique handmade card is something anyone can do. And you can even make yours a bit more personal by including a photo. For this month’s free Craft Camp project with Canon, I will be showing you how to make these cute holiday pop-up cards.
Our free template below includes two different card designs with matching envelopes. And you can join me on YouTube this Friday, the 30th, at 11 am PST for the live tutorial.
These holiday pop-up cards can be printed onto letter-sized card stock. I used my new Canon PIXMA TS6420 on the “Best” setting to print my festive colors bright and clear. Each card uses only one page for both the popup and the envelope, so you can easily print one for each of your family members and friends.
The next step is where you get to personalize your holiday pop-up cards. Find a place to take a photo where there is plenty of light and a simple, preferably solid background. Sit on the floor, crisscrossed legs, and have your parent snap a photo of you straight on. It works best if the camera lens is eye level to you, so ask your photographer to get down on the floor with you!
You can take the photo with a smartphone, camera, or even better, the Canon IVY CLIQ+2 instant camera printer. Not only will they take photos, but it can instantly print your popup mini you. Be sure to size your image so your knees are to the edge of the frame/paper which is 2.5 inches wide. This is important so your photo will fit properly into the popup design.
Once you have all of your parts and pieces printed, grab a pair of scissors and some glue dots. Then come join me on YouTube this Friday at 11 am PST to learn how to assemble your holiday pop-up cards. If you are not able to attend our live tutorial, the video will be available for you to watch and make along after the live event.
See you there!
