Halloween is creeping ever closer, so now’s the perfect time to consider some quick and simple ways to add a few spooky finishing touches to your home decor in time for October 31st. These super easy DIY Halloween decorations are perfect for draping over mirrors, curtains, lamps and more, and can be made as long or as short as you wish! String these cute little ghost tassels up in minutes, and then easily pack them away in November, ready for use next year.
Time to Make: 50 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy
You Will Need:
Step 1:
Wrap the wool forty times around the cardboard, lengthways.
Step 2:
Cut a 25cm length of wool, tuck it under the wrapped wool, then tie in a double knot. Remove from the cardboard.
Step 3:
With the first tied length at the top, wrap another length of wool 2.5cm down from the top, then tie in a double knot to create a head. Trim the ends of the tied wool.
Step 4:
Place scissors in the loops then cut in half. Neaten the edges.
Step 5:
Punch out eyes from black craft foam, then glue to the head. Trim away the lengths of wool on the top.
Step 6:
Thread baker’s twine through a large needle, then thread through the head of each ghost. Even out the ghosts along the baker’s twine.
Top Tip: Allow about 9 ghosts per metre of baker’s twine.
Create your ghoulish garland as long or as short as you wish – you could create lengths to decorate hedges or bushes outside, or smaller decorations for mirrors or lamps indoors!
